Daisy London* - Iota Daisy Ring |
I've found moving more difficult than I expected - getting caught up in the excitement I didn't give a second thought to how I'd feel when it dissipated. I felt homesick for all the comforts I was used to in our old flat and overwhelmed by the amount of work we have to do here to make it into a house we love. When I feel like this it's helpful to write down (or tweet) the small things that have made me smile and really focus on them.
1. My New Daisy London Ring
Something sparkly arriving in the post normally cheers me up and I'm so pleased with this ring gifted from Daisy London. I like a delicate ring and this one is a really pretty circle of daisies in sterling silver and 18ct gold plate. Something like this is great for wearing everyday or stacking with your other favourite rings for a more statement look.
2. Watching The Garden Birds From My Desk
Thanks to the patio doors in our new 'home office' I can watch what is happening outside and see the birds that come to the feeder and bird bath. Our previous house didn't have good views of the garden (although we were very lucky to have one) so I'm enjoying this even more.
3. The Great British Bake Off
There have been a couple of Tuesdays over the past few weeks that I've felt so overwhelmed by everything I knew I couldn't enjoy Bake Off live but when I catch up it always brightens my night. Especially because I wasn't sure if it would be on our TVs this autumn - such a treat every week!
4. My Latest Charity Shop Find
I've not been to a city shopping since February/March but every few weeks I enjoy a wander round our local charity shops. I normally just browse but on Friday last week I found a near-new Seasalt dress in a gorgeous chord and autumnal colours. I'm sure it will feature in a blog post soon so I'll keep you in suspense.
5. Our Wood Burner Arriving
One of the things I was most desperate to have in our new house was a wood burner (or multi-fuel stove if I'm being accurate) and thanks to a gift from all our grandparents its come into our lives a little sooner than expected and I love it. It's currently sitting in an unfinished hearth while we wait for a few things to be done before we can connect it up and I'm so excited. They just bring the loveliest warmth to a grey and cold winters day.
Finally, a shameless mention of my Dads new Etsy shop. To help see them through this pandemic and the downturn in their main income my Dad has decided to sell some of his photography. I know it won't be to everyone's tastes but if you know someone who likes this style I'd really appreciate the share. Please check out Contemporary Photo Art on Etsy.
